Webmaster tools

We have included on our website a selection of tools which we commonly use when we build, analyse and promote websites. Feel free to use them. The majority of these tools link into external databases and sometimes, due to large volumes of traffic they do not always show results. All we can say is keep trying and you should get the results you need.

Domain name checker
This is very useful is you need to find out information about a domain name or need to know if a domain name is available.

Check your website
I use this to analyse the number of incoming links to a website and also to see how many pages each website has indexed in the search engines. This can tell us a lot about how the site was built. It also lets us know if the site is listed in the two main online directories.

Who links to you
This useful tool lets us look inside the yahoo database to see which pages are linking to a certain site. The benefits of this is that you can see if your website can be placed on these pages, increasing your back links and determining which are relevant sites.

Analyse your website
We have just finished this tool. It is aimed to give you a guide about the positioning of the keywords within a site. It will check your website and give you ideas on how to improve your onsite search engine optimisation.

Keyword suggestions
A bit of a temperamental tool this one. Using the overture/yahoo database we can analyse the more popular keyword phrases that people are searching for. These results are sometimes skewed by the likes of webmasters checking their rankings but it does give you a good idea what keyword phrases to target. If you want detailed information we recommend wordtracker or keyword discovery .

Search engine submission
Submit your website to a load of search engines. This is good for additional traffic. Doesn't help much with positioning in the big three but it is nice to have your site listed in a lot of other search engines.

Article Search
Do you need to find out how to do something, such as search engine promotion or building a website? Then use our article search engine which taps into many of the leading article directories.

This section links into Amazon where you can buy any of our recommended books. These books we have actually purchased, read and used, which is why we put them on our website.
